I'm pretty sure that almost every reader of this blog will know what "Google Checkout" is. Well, Amazon have just released their own version, read more.

Checkout by Amazon^TM is a complete ecommerce checkout solution that provides your customers with the same secure and trusted checkout experience available on Amazon.com today. It offers unique features including Amazon's 1-Click^® and tools for businesses to manage shipping charges, sales tax, promotions, and post-sale activities including refunds, cancellations, and chargebacks.

The good thing is that Amazon have already made an add-on available which you can install to get it up and running without a lot of fuss.

I have not tested it, though I have had a look at the codebase – I'd have preferred to do things a little differently to how they've coded it, but all in all, if it works, why not make use of it. The osCommerce download is available here.

It's released under GPL (as it should be), but you will need to look at the terms of use of the actual Amazon Checkout to make sure that it is what you need.
